Is Ilyumzhinov good for chess?
I watched the women’s superfinal almost all the way through. It was certainly a tough tournament to win and congratulations to Korbut.
One of the strangest things that happened was the last round, when the three leaders (Korbut, T Kosintseva, N Kosintseva) had 8/10, 7.5/10 and 7.5/10 respectively. Each of them needed wins or draws to get/keep first place and all three lost their final games!
Overall a very decisive tournament, less than 30% draws!
