Many of you have heard of the U.S. Chess League, which is now in its second season and consists of ten teams.
As the manager of the New York Knights, (last year’s Eastern division champions) I invite you to:
New York Knights pregame party, lecture and fundraiser
September 25, Monday at 7 pm
The Marshall Chess Club
GM Pascal Charbonneau will present his “Game of the Week”, and there will be a Q+A with the team members and League Commissioner IM Greg Shahade.
This is a unique opportunity to ask players such as IM Irina Krush and U.S. Junior Champ Robert Hess how they feel just before a game and what they think their opponents may play!
Admission fee: 10$ for Non Marshall Members (Free for members) + $10 suggested donation to support the Knights and events like this one. 5$+5$ for Students. Free for accompanying parents. Refreshments will be served.
At 9 pm that evening we will transition into the quieter portion of the evening as the Knights face off against the Seattle Sluggers.
The Sluggers are a very tough team and are currently 3-0. All are welcome to stay and watch the match.
Please forward this to anyone who you think would be interested. I hope to see you all next week!

It’s great that you’re promoting all different aspects of chess. Thanks Susan!
Any other teams doing anything like this? I dont live in new york.
I don’t think so and I don’t think too many people care about this.

What are you talking about? Jenn is the hottest player in America!
Jenn! Jenn! Jenn! Jenn!
Hey! My eyes are UP HERE!
How much do they get paid?
Probably nothing for patzers and $50 for GMs. European GMs get about $5,000 per game.
