R is king= rei
D is queen= dama
T is rook= torre literally, tower
A is bishop alfil, kinda like a field marshall
C is knight, caballo, literally horse
P is pawn, peon
a 13-move draw? pfffff……….
The photo’s reversed…
You know you’re thinking too much about chess when you notice the light square in the left corner before you notice all the reversed text surrounding it!
oh, and the picture is reversed again…
blaah, too late :))
Draw miniatures are just a bad chess.
This is insulting to chess… How can you attract sponsors or public this way… Imagine Golf be player three holes only… Soccer, football, basquetball one quarter/half…
Chess players will never be real professionals… shame for our sport(?)… and on top of that they don´t even seat there the all game…
Thank goodness for Susan’s web log! It’s the greatest!
Whats the logic of playing 13 moves? Why not agree to a draw at move 1?
A is bishop alfil,
I wonder if that comes from Arabic?

Spanish and italian notation are the same!
R is king= re
D is queen= donna
T is rook= torre literally, tower
A is bishop= Alfiere
C is knight, cavallo (caballo in spanish)
P is pawn= pedone
Those quick draws are lames who wants to pay to see that. Why don’t they just anounce beforehand that a draw was agree. Then play another game where the win or loss doesn’t count against the player as the draw was agreed beforehand and you might get a real game with tactics, strategy at least an interesting game for the spectators rather than a lame draw.
Yeah too little, too late for Ivanchuck to get to Mexico City
