Ivanchuk is on top of his game.
Ivanchuk might make 2800 and become world number one if he has 1 or 2 more good tournaments (as it is he will reach 2775-2780 from 2729!)
I wish Ivanchuk could play a big match for world championshp title or at least candidate matches- a Topalov -Ivanchuk match would be intriguing.

“Elephant taming the Lion” is a more appropriate description. Ivanchuk’s game is at another level above Shirov’s.
I wonder, if we can construct some complex-mechanism of giving him an earlier shot at the World Championship. 🙂
He is much stronger than many of the other players at Mexico.
That was a really excellent game. Shirov did not do too much wrong.
shirov is playing exceptionally well considering the fatigue he is suffering from elista
What a brilliant, awesome performance of Ivantchuk thusfar! Such accuracy and fighting energy.
I agree with some of the previous posts Shirov has a very good tournament as well escpcially considering his previous energy taking matches.
