One of the world’s best, GM Hikaru Nakamura, made a surprised visit to the 2013 Houston Open. Even though Hikaru is much higher rated than the entire field, he only finished in 3rd place, behind GMs Sadorra and Macieja, as he drew both of them.

This proves that it is not so easy to beat any GM, even a few hundred rating points lower, in an Open tournament.
