The Israeli Chess Championships 2013 for men and women are taking place on 6th-14th April at the Palm Beach Hotel in Acre, Israel.
The event counts with the support of the National Lottery, which donated 500.000 New Shekels to the Israeli Chess Federation recently.
The men’s competition is a 11-round Swiss open, while the women’s event only counts with 9 participants, which are playing with a single round-robin format.
Out of the 32 registered players for the men’s event, no less than 16 are Grandmasters. The first seeds are the veteran Ilia Smirin, the young promise Maxim Rodshtein and Evgeny Postny.
