Irina won the Semifinal Women’s World Chess Blitz Championship 2010 by 2 full points with the score of 12.5 / 14! Unfortunately, not too many websites even bother to cover this event so far. I hope that the coverage will pick up soon.

This is a farce. That’s why most chess media won’t cover it. This is an event staged for Kosteniuk because she endorsed the new party at the Russian Chess Federation. This is why we need a new leader like Karpov and Kasparov.
Why did you and Judit decline?!
As you can see in the official regulation, I did not receive an invitation as the reigning women’s world blitz champion. This is quite shocking. I believe this is the first in chess history. Even the organizer did not offer me an invitation as a wild card by May 1, 2010 deadline.
I received a wild card invitation by President Ilyumzhinov much later. By that time, it was too late for me to change my commitment with SPICE and Texas Tech University.
It is unfortunate because I am leaving for Russia early next week and I could have made plans to participate in this event if I was invited timely.
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
It sucks that even CLO doesn’t bother to report this. Such incompetent idiots running the USCF.
Aw come on!
These are only the first days’ results. 16 is the second day of the Semifinal (other 6 rounds, 12 games): Irina must fight again.
Irina is now among world’s elite.
Irina is a hot babe…
Where is the official website reporting on this event? I just visited FIDE’s calendar and the only thing available is the Regulations! If FIDE wants websites to cover this event an official website would be helpful. I can’t publish what I can’t find.
