Rheanna English (a former participant of the Susan Polgar National Invitational for Girls representing Texas) just sent me this.

Dear Susan,

We are currently working on a group project in school aimed towards making a difference in the community. About a month ago our teacher showed us a video about the horrible conditions children are facing in northern Uganda, called “Invisible Children.” For their projects, some groups have chosen this topic and raising awareness. Many children are being kidnapped and trained into being child soldiers in a rebel army. Every child must hide at night in order to hide from the kidnappers and they live their everyday lives in fear. The goal of this program on www.invisiblechildren.org is to raise awareness of the issue and to raise funds to help this situation. The main goal is to raise awareness of the issue!

Sincerely,
Rheanna English

I am very proud to see the Polgar Girls caring about important social issues. Thank you Rheanna for bringing this to my attention!
