Dear Ruan Lufei, how do you feel in Armenia? Have you managed to see the sights of the city of Jermuk?

I like fresh air, endless mountains and the forests here. I hope I’ll have more opportunities to see the beautiful sights.

You participated in Grand Prix tournaments in 2011 and 2012. How do you assess your results in Shenzhen and Rostov?

I didn’t do well in Rostov, but it’s not so unexpected as I seldom play chess recently.

Do you evaluate your preparation for this tournament satisfactory? What expectations do you have?

I didn’t have time to prepare for this tournament, so I know anything can happen. I’ll be happy as long as I don’t finish last.

All Grand Prix tournaments have rather strong participants. This time also it is not an exception. Do you think there are favorites?

I think everything can happen over the chess board. If I should choose someone, then I think the favorite is Hou Yifan.

What would you identify as the most important traits in a person? How do you envision the world champion?

Honesty, and to never give up. I wish the world champion can do more in promoting chess around the world.
