I very much enjoyed my last Chess Moves Cruise to the Caribean. That is why I signed up again to join Grandmaster Larry Christiansen for the upcoming Chess Moves Cruise to beautiful Alaska on August 19-26, 2006.
This time, I am also bringing my friends, reigning US Champion GM Alex Onischuk and GM Alex Stripunsky who tied for 1st at last year’s US Championship.
In addition to enjoying the incredible Alaska cruising experience in August (one of the best times to visit Alaska) on a beautiful luxury ship from Holland America Lines, you will have a chance to learn chess from all these wonderful world-class instructors.
There will be plenty of classes for players of all levels. There will also many private learning sessions as well. All the participants had a ball with the last cruise. You can read about their thoughts of the last cruise here.

I wish I could go 🙁
I went on the first one and had a great time. I spoke with Paul a bit and he told me about this blog and today I finally got some time to check it out. He really is a ball of energy as some describe him and I look forward to attending at least one of his lectures on the next cruise. I think I only got to attend 2 of Susan’s lectures on the first cruise but they were great.
Susan this cruise sounds like heaven! I am really interested in The Kings Indian defense and The Sicilian, plus many other lectures sound great! I understand there will be fun blitz chess played also. Approximately how many days are spent with lectures? Also if I go could I get a lesson with you? ; )

TFK — I can respond to your last comment/question … there are well over 20 hours of classes PLUS everyone gets a private lesson with a GM. If you come and want to have a lesson with GM Polgar, you can. Remarkably, we don’t have as many people signed up for this trip as the Caribbean, so it’s very likely everyone will get two one-hour lessons with the GMs.
Thank you Neil!

So why isnt this cruise popular Neil? The first one was awesome and I’m actually disappointed you don’t have a CM 3 scheduled.
Hi chessplayer,
I do have a Chess Moves 3 planned … but I won’t be announcing its date or location until I have all of the speakers (GMs) lined up 🙂
The upcoming one could be more popular, but we have enough folks to have a great time and for everyone to get a lot of face time with the GMs.
