The 2015 Hungarian Rapid Chess Championship took place on December 28th and gathered 70 players. The event was played in a 9-round Swiss format with time control 15’ + 10” and average Elo rating of 2181.

The 16-year-old prodigy IM Benjamin Gledura emerged a solo winner with 7.5 points, leaving no less than eight grandmasters behind.

Gledura played at performance 2656 and added 36 new Elo points to his rating.

The second place was shared in a three-way tie by GM Tamas Banusz, GM Imre Balog and GM Csaba Horvath at 7 points each.

WGM Petra Papp was the best female participant with 5.5 points and 18th place at the final ranking.
