The 6th Lian Open 2014 was organized by Bushehr Chess Association on behalf of the Iranian Chess Federation from 5th to 11th November 2014 at the Bushehr Chess House in Bushehr, the capital city of the Bushehr Province in Iran.
The event was a 9-round Swiss Open with tempo of play 90′ + 30″.
129 players took part in the tournament, but IM Amirreza Pourramezanali emerged a clear winner on 8.5/9 points. He scored 8 consecutive victories and drew in the last round against IM Morteza Darban to lift the trophy.
GM Asghar Golizadeh finished second on 8 points, leaving the nearest followers full point behind.
Third place was shared in a six-way tie by Adnan Nadimifar, Ali Mansoori H., IM Morteza Darban, Sajad Moradi, FM A. M. Soozankar and IM S. Hamed Moosavian on 7 points each, but Nadimifar prevailed on a better tie-break score and took the bronze.
