Ikaros Chess Festival 2009 is going to be the strongest and biggest edition of the tournament in its 32 years history. And there is no surprise, as it is the event offering the best conditions in the current financial crisis – you get paid for your rating points, receive discounted accommodation, get the ferry covered, and at the same time enjoy strong chess among the beautiful nature of the Greek Island of Ikaria.

Below you can find a provisional list with 45 titled players, many of which GMs, from mahy different countries including Russia, India, Zimbabwe, Ukraine, Georgia, Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Austria, Iran, Uzbekistan, Poland, Israel, Armenia, Turkmenistan, Slovenia, Denmark, Germany, Luxembourg, Serbia, Bulgaria, Ireland, Lithuania, and of course Greece (scroll down for provisional list of participants).
