State Chess Tournament Wraps Up In Twin Falls

TWIN FALLS, ID (KMVT TV) – Make your move, I’m taking your queen, Checkmate are some of the many things competitors were thinking at the final round of the Idaho Closed State Chess Championship.

In a very quiet room at the Shilo Inn Suites in Twin Falls, contestants thought through their every move of a chess game.

All of the players are vying for a trophy to show their state champions.

Players of all experience levels, age and from all over the Gem State participated in the championship.

This year, 29 people played six rounds and each round is given a six hour time limit.

The final round started at three pm and may last until nine pm.
