YEREVAN. – After becoming Armenia’s chess champion and qualifying for the country’s national team, on Sunday, Grandmaster Tigran Petrosyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am’s reporter that he did not intend to be a reserve player in the national squad.

“I not intend to be a reserve player in the team. I am convinced that I will prepare well for the year’s most important tournament: the Olympiad,” noted Petrosyan, who is a member of Armenia’s winning team at the World Olympiad.

In the final tour of Armenia’s Top Group championship, Tigran Petrosyan defeated last year’s champion, and member of Armenia’s world champion team, Robert Hovhannisyan, and became Armenia’s champion.
