Hungary takes the gold in the European youth team championship U18
Poland takes the gold in the girls section

Hungary won convincingly the first place at the European youth team championship U18, part of the Czech Open 2009 international events. The team represented by IM Prohaszka, IM Pap Gyula, IM Balog, FM Fodor, and FM Mihok won the gold with 6 match victories and 1 draw for a total of 13 game points. Second place was for Poland with 10 games points (5 match victories and 2 losses), the bronze went to Germany (3 victories, 3 draws and 1 loss).

In the girls section Poland took the first place in a stunning last round sprint. Third and fourth place were for the Germany 1 and Germany 2 teams with the same match points, but worse game points tiebreak.

Top players in the boys section are IM Peter Prohaszka and FM Yilmaz Mustafa with 6,0/7, the medals in the girls section are for WIM Jovana Vojinovic (6,5/7), WFM Osmanodja (6,0/7), and Patrycja Labedz (6,0/7).
