Hou Yifan defeated IM Cristobal Henriquez 2.5-1.5 in Antarctica

Top rated female player and former World Champion Hou Yifan visited Chile from 2-10th February.

The first activity was a 60-board simultaneous exhibition at the Plaza de la Constitución del Palacio de la Moneda. On the same day Hou Yifan visited Universidad San Sebastián to attend the national Youth Championship.

Finally, the main activity is the Bicontinental Chess Match between Hou Yifan and local star Cristobal Henriquez Villagra took place in Chilean Patagonia and Antarctica.

The event is one of the many timed to the 500th anniversary of the opening of the Strait of Magellan.
