1. d8=Q Rxd8
2. Rxd8 Kxd8
3. a7 Ra5
4. Nb7+
It’s so easy when somebody shows you the moves.
after 2.rxd8 i think it is better for black to play 2..RxN and end up playing R+4p+K vs Q+1p+K ending
1. d8=Q Rxd8
2. Rxd8 Rxc5
3. Rh8 Ra5
4. a7
hac
Well, 4p is exaggerating a bit, mostly in the case without a rook. I guess the b-pawn is fairly difficult to hold for black. 🙂
no, not:
3.a7
with black’s best being to give up the rook for the pawn with
3…Ra5 4.a8=Q rxa8 5. Rxa8
after 3.a7 black plays 3..KxR and lets white queen on a8 with a check.
I suggest 1.a7 and if 1…Rxc5 then 2.d8Q etc.
SharkBite.
1. d8-Q Rxd8 2.Rxd8 Kxd8 3.a7 Rxc5 4.a8-Q and white going to win?
Even if white can’t break the blockade and win, the question as to whether the position is hopeless for him has been answered in the negative.
