Yesterday was a historical day for Victorian and Australian chess!

205 girls competed in the 2016 Chess Victoria Secondary and Primary Girl Schools Finals.This was the record number of girls for day tournament in Victoria and Australia!!

In the Primary Schools division 127 players represented 26 schools with youngest player being only 7-years old!

Top individual performances were

1-3 —Shalana Powell, Chao Xin Cheng and Emily Lin—6.5 points from 7 games each.

4-7—Zoe Luescher,Chao Shien Cheng,Arica Mane,Zoe Jones—6 points each.

8.Phi Elizabeth Vuong—5.5.
