Guam eligible for Olympic chess

Guam Echecs (Island Chess) recently was approved as an affiliate member to the Federation Internationale des Echecs (FIDE).

Guam Echecs now can send a chess team from Guam to play in the Olympiads anywhere in the world. Individual players also can participate in zonal or regional championships in the Oceania or Asia-Pacific region.

Guam Echecs will hold another major chess tournament by skill levels 1-5 at the Agana Shopping Center on Nov. 26 and 27 and Dec. 4 and 11 to determine the Guam Chess Champion and top ten players from Guam.
