Sometimes a game is not just a game.
Serious chess players of all ages came to the North Shore Chess Center Saturday and Sunday looking for key advice from one of the best.
Yasser Seirawan, ranked as a chess grandmaster, is also a four-time U.S. champion and 1979 winner of the World Chess Championship. He has written several books on chess and has become a respected chess commentator.
Seirawan this weekend not only lectured about the game he loves but he also provided hands-on demonstrations and signed some of the books he has authored.
Seirawan began playing chess before he was a teenager and at 13 he became Washington junior champion. At 19 he won the World Junior Chess Championship.
The North Shore Chess Center at 5500 W. Touhy Ave. Suite A is designed for chess lovers of all ages and playing strenth. For more information, call (847) 423-8626.

Nakamura would beat Seirawan 10-0 in a match.
1979 winner of the World Chess Championship? Which world are we talking about.
I agree that Naka would beat Seirawan 10-0 in a match – a match in B.S. maybe.
