The FIDE Zone 3.1 Championship 2015 took place from 17-24th May, 2015, in Muscat, the capital of Oman.
The event was organized by Oman Chess Federation in a 9-round format with tempo of play 90′/ 40 + 30′ + 30″.
Iranian GM Pouya Idani finished first in the Men’s tournament with 8/9 points, leaving his countrymen, the runner-up GM Ehsan Ghaem Maghami half a point behind.
IM Basheer Al Qudaimi remained third with 6 points.
GM Chen Zhu from Qatar topped the female tournament. She edged Iranian WGM Atousa Pourkashiyan on a superior tie-break score to take the gold.
WIM Mitra Hejazipour took the bronze with 7,5 points.
