The 26th Belgrade International Open Championship (Belgrade Trophy) was held from 24th November to 2nd December in Obrenovac, near Belgrade. 178 players competed in the nine round Swiss event.

Grandmasters Tamir Nabaty (Israel) and Dalibor Stojanovic (BIH) emerged victorious in their last round matches against GM Miodrag Savic and GM Branko Damljanovic respectively to share the first place with 7,5 points each.

Nabaty counted a slightly better tie-break and is awarded with the winner’s trophy.

The talented junior Marko Nenezic finished undefeated with 6,5 points to earn an IM norm. Ivan Sarenac lost in the final round to GM Peter Drenchev but he won the IM norm nevertheless.
