Sayantan Das earns maiden GM norm

Kolkata, July 4 (PTI) Young chess player Sayantan Das today achieved his maiden Grandmaster norm during an international tournament in Barcelona, Spain.
Das, a trainee of Goodricke National Chess Academy run by Alekhine Chess Club here, beat two GMs and drew with another two highly-rated GMs in the 22nd Open International ciutat de Montcada held in Barcelona.
His ELO rating performance was 2613. He gained 46 ELO points from the tournament, a release said today.
