SARATOGA, Wyo. (AP) — A chess grandmaster will be in Saratoga on Friday to match his skills against all comers.

Sergey Kudrin became a grandmaster in 1984. His accomplishments over the years include playing to a draw against a former world champion.

He lives in Connecticut and is recognized as one of the top chess players in the U.S.

Kudrin is scheduled play an exhibition against chess aficionados Friday at the Saratoga Resort & Spa.

The event costs $20 and kicks off the second annual Wild West Chess Tournament. The Rawlins Daily Times reports last year’s event drew about 60 people.

Tournament matches will be Saturday and Sunday. Other competitions will include a U.S. G/15 championship game Saturday.
