Grandmaster Ernesto Inarkiev, the reigning European Champion, is elected president of the chess federation in Republic of Ingushetia, a federal subject of Russia.
One of his first projects will be implementation of the program “Chess in Schools”. Inarkiev is the author of the idea of compulsory chess education in the elementary schools. This initiative is supported by the regional Ministry of Education.
Another project is building the comprehensive tournament calendar to achieve maximum effects from the chess education.
