GLADDING WINS WACHUSETT CHESS CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP

Larry Gladding of Leominster won the Wachusett Chess Club championship last week at Fitchburg State College. Held at the college’s McKay Campus School, the nationally rated tournament saw Gladding tally 5.5 points out of a possible seven in a round-robin field of eight players.

Tying for second place with five points apiece were two-time club champion Bruce Felton of Fitchburg and Gary Brassard of Leominster. All three finishers are Class A-rated players.
