Chess: Bulgarian Kiril Georgiev wins Karpos Open international Christmas tournament in Macedonia

Bulgarian Kiril Georgiev has won Karpos Open international Christmas tournament in Macedonia, Press 24 reported. Grandmaster Georgiev was also last year’s winner in the chess tournament. 

He won a prize of MKD 21,000. The Serbian chess players Goran Todorovic and Boroljub Zlatanovic came in second and third, winning MKD 15,000 and MKD 13,000 respectively. 

A total of 107 participants from Macedonia and abroad took part in the international Christmas tournament. Karpos Mayor Stevco Jakimovski conferred the awards on the winners.
