Junior will win 3.5 – 2.5.
Fritz will win.
Did you read of this?
http://www.rybkachess.com/docs/ChallengeToFIDE.htm
Anon, I agree. Fritz will win by a large margin. Go Fritz!!!
I predict Junior will win the match. However, Rybka is stronger than both and the offer from the Rybka creator is more than fair. It’s amazing to watch such powerful chess programs battle it out. It’s amazing how much stronger they have become in merely the last 10 years. Imagine…what will computer chess by like in 2030 and how much stronger will human GM’s become due to the study of computer chess? Interesting…..
Rybka would crush them both…
rybka is the best chess program
The winner will lose to Rybka.
Is there a broadcast of the games in the web?
With or without the smack talk option turned on? If talking smack, Fritz will taunt Jr into distraction…Rich
Will there be a web site for game transmittion on the web?
Who cares. If any program it should be Rybka to play. This is a silly match.
Rybka could beat both of them at the same time with its hands tied behind its back.
Rybka could beat both blindfolded and allow them to look. haha.
Seriously, everyone knows Rybka is the best by far. I do have Fritz9 but next purchase will be Rybka.
This kind of fake match only frustrates me with Chessbase and Fide. Anyway I will not be watching the moves on ICC. I will be watching people play people.
I think it will be very equal, maybe 3-3 after the six game match, any tie-breaks in this case?
I think Rybka can dominate these programs but not with the odds that Vasik is offering, I think he went a little overboard with that.
many world champions avoided playing the best, simply to keep their title.
why is chess full of egoistic meaglomaniacs? i do not know.
but excluding rybka is unfair and ridiculous.
then again, promoting fritz and deep junior gives to all rybka-users an advantage at home preperation, since they (we) are still using rybka!
I have Fritz, Junior, Rybka, Hiarc, etc. I ran several round robin tournaments, on the same computer, in regular 2+1+0.5h regulation time settings, Rybka won these test tournaments every single time in such a way that it wasn’t even close.
crafty is better than rybka

then Junior and Fritz or the other way around. Who cares!
Hi,
it will be draw.
Both thouse programs are worse then Rybka.
It is strange that Fide ignores Rybka. Similar policy as in the human chess ignoring reality.
Regards
Pony.
rybka is very very strong. but if fritz can retain some advantege in an endgame then it will win for sure since rybkas endgame is horrible compared fritz. on the other hand junior sometimes finds those brillianies which other engines takes an hour to verify.
Rybka is the best engine
Have a look here

Phil
imagine, if you will…
Rybka software…
Running on Hydra hardware…
Did I just blow your mind?
One more vote for Rybka.
It’s the best engine, it has the best results and deserves the chance to play for the computer world championship.
Who would reign supreme?
Well…Rybka would!
(if it was invited) But they didn’t invite it, cause it’s too good!
Rybka is the best chessplaying software at this moment!
matt helfst, me think vas is even modest and has tried not to go overboard with his challenge…me like a world of chess where there is no absolute monarch, where the top five best players (human or machine) respect each other knowing that any qualify to be world champ.Currently in the computer arena the reverse is the case. Rybka respects no one,pls just look at the ratings. In a 24 game classical match with unlimited hardware and unlimited open book Rybka will simply embarass junior even with 4 points down…really scarry, really really scarry!!!
