Former women’s world champion Antoaneta Stefanova was born April 19, 1979 in Sofia, Bulgaria. She became the twelfth titleholder in 2004 in a 64-player knockout tournament held in Elista.

She was just four years old when she taught chess by her own father, Andon Stefanov. She earned the title of men’s Grandmaster (by the traditional way of norms and rating) in June 2003.

On behalf of the chess fans, I would like to wish her a happy birthday!
