First Internet Based Arbiters Seminar

The FIDE Arbiters Commission and the North American Chess Association (NACA) are proud to present the first ever FIDE Arbiters Seminar utilizing Internet conferencing technology. In efforts to reduce the financial burden to those wishing to organize the required Arbiters Seminar, the Arbiters Commission and the NACA are jointly cooperating in the evaluation of Internetconferencing technology to deliver the required seminar for individuals seeking to become accredited as FIDE Arbiters.

The pilot Internet seminar will take place over the course of 4 weekend dates, with 3 days of lectures and 1 day of the exam. The dates and times are as follows:

• 10‐July‐2010 beginning at 10:00 Chicago time until 15:00 Chicago time (lecture)
• 11‐July‐2010 beginning at 10:00 Chicago time until 15:00 Chicago time (lecture)
• 17‐July‐2010 beginning at 10:00 Chicago time until 15:00 Chicago time (lecture)
• 18‐July 2010 beginning at 10:00 Chicago time until 13:00 Chicago time (exam)

The Chief Lecturer will be the FIDE’s Chairman of the Arbiters Commission and International Arbiter, Mr. Panagiotis Nikolopoulos. The Assistant Lecturer will be International Arbiter and Organizer, Sevan A. Muradian.

There will be no charge for the initial seminar.

The initial Internet seminar will be open to a maximum of 15 people. The NACA will contact interested parties. If you are interested in participating, please send an email to sevan@nachess.org. We will attempt to accommodate requests however we cannot guarantee all requests can be accommodated. Technical requirements will be provided to all participants after confirmation has been received.

The Arbiters Commission and the NACA looks forward to presenting this opportunity and leveraging modern technology to further enhance chess.
