Is there a resource to find out how to properly pronounce names like “Cmilyte, Viktorija” …?
I recall similar problems with “Alekhine” – is it AL-ECK-INE or AL-YEH-KIN… etc.
Perhaps FIDE should take a hint from online dictionaries that have a small .wav file recording of a person speaking the word(s)…
Cmilyte is beautiful, much more than Kosteniuk. She’s apparently a better player as well. Good to see another beauty and brain.
kerry liles,
Great question! It would be great if there were. I know I’m destroying many, if not all, of these names.

Who’s the person sitting do close to the players and distracting them with his closeness and his diary placed almost on the board?? Is this some kind of new chess?

Or this guy? Sleeping and holding on to the table during maybe a blitz play-off??
Where are the arbiters to kick’em out?
Sitting behind GM Cramling is her husband. He is GM Juan Bellon.
Best wishes,

All girls are beautiful, I’d skip Cmilyte, though. Too tall.
OK, you can have Chibu then.
They unfortunately have no captions at the official website, thank you for the info on the husband. From different countries they married? Very nice!
Who’s Chibu? What’s her elo?
Playing the final World Championship must be a good feeling?
Are there any Hungarian girls who had qualified or almost qualified? What happened to the one who played with the Polgar sisters in the team, forgot her name now? Hungary has good chess players since forever.
