The World Chess Federation visits Dresden.
During a working meeting on 28 February 2008 in Dresden, FIDE and the Organizers of the Dresden Olympiad discussed various points concerning the organization of the forthcoming Chess Olympiad in November 2008.
FIDE was represented by its Executive Director David Jarrett and by its Commercial Director, Geoffrey Borg. The Dresden Organizers were represented by Chairman Dr Dirk Jordan, Managing Director Jorn-Torsten Verleger and Marketing Director Volker Bernardi. Horst Metzing represented the German Chess Federation.
“FIDE is pleased with the status of the preparations shown concerning the Chess Olympiad organization and hosting in Dresden”, stated David Jarrett on behalf of FIDE. “Everything is on track for a successful Olympiad in November”.
“In the framework of the Master Plan many points were discussed concerning the Logistics and Operations during the Olympiad such as transportation, registration and accreditation, Visa procedures, accommodation for players, officials, arbiters and guests”, said Managing Director Jorn-Torsten Verleger. “We are sure that everybody travelling to Dresden to attend the Chess Olympiad in any function whatsoever will find best conditions in Germany”.
FIDE and the Organizers will continue working together with regular consultations, visits and close co-operation in the preparations for the Chess Olympiad.

I noticed the post that was written about my daughter. I noticed the person who wrote it was anonymous. My daughter and I do not live in the United States since I own a business in Mexico. She has only played in a few tournaments in the United States. However since a question was asked I shall answer it.
Claudia was rated here in Mexico 1216 at the age of 7. Then the FENAMAC began to go through some political problems that caused nationwide for rating to rarel go up. Somewhat of a power struggle in the national organization. She had won everything their was to win in scholastic chess in Mexico and her rating had only gone up 40 points at the most. In tournaments where US players would come down here to Mexico she had defeated a 1720 player in her first 30 days of becoming 8 years old. When she went to the states she had trouble adjusting to US Chess but in her 2nd tournament in Dallas at age 9 she drew with a 1500 plus rated girl that was 10 years old. Once we saw the ratings in Mexico werent going up she joined the US team going to the North American Championship where she won gold medal for the USA by wiping out undefeated the Mexican team that had just gone to the Pan American Youth Championship in Colombia. 60 days later she went to the SUSAN POLGAR where she went undefeated again followed by a 3 day rest and playing in the Coahuila state championship going undefeated in her third tournament in a row only to win the Regional tournament against 4 champions of 4 states undefeated again. She will be attending the Mexican Open in two weeks and then to Dallas where she will spend a month just working on tournament play. We have the disadvantage that the closest chess club is hundreds of miles. We have had to politics in both the US and Mexico for her to play because she is an American playing in Mexico.
If you noticed Claudia’s statement was, “I wanna go!!!BUT I’m not THEIR YET. booohoooo” Not their yet meaning not at the level required. I thinks she nows things are in due time. But for a girl with an American rating of only 1200 plus who had to form herself outside the USA and yet in her first appearance for the USA won gold internationally only to follow up with another undefeated appearance 60 days later when we had to sacrifice finances to get her to the states is remarkable.
Claudia just turned 10 years old 90 days ago. It isnt who starts off strong, its who finishes strong.By the way, in Ecuador she will be representing YOU in the Pan American Championship along with her 1200 rating, you know why? because she earned her representation.
P.S. She is ready to face the top best 10 year old kids. Its time for American to see who has been training on the other side of the river. She is adapted to playing in the USA.
I do not sign anonymous.

anonymous 3:00 pm it sounds like you are not really anonymous. It sounds like you work for this blog. I know Susan would not let one of its colaborators tear down the efforts of a little girl. I dont know the kid myself but any achievements by anybody is an achievement nonetheless. I hope you can send this child your picture so when she succeeds, you can buy her book. Incredible what people write in here. I come here for the chess positions.

I apologize for some of the comments. There are hundreds of comments daily and sometimes I cannot catch all the bad ones. Please email me and let me know next time if you see an inappropriate post.
Good luck Claudia and this should be an incentive for you to work harder. I faced the same thing you do when I was a young girl and it motivated me to work harder to succeed. Never give up your dream!
Best wishes,
Susan Polgar
