FIDE President’s visit to Uzbekistan
The FIDE President Kirsan Ilyumzhinov arrived in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on an official visit. There he took part in an opening ceremony of a rapid match between World Champion Viswanathan Anand and ex-World Champion Rustam Kasimdzhanov. Kirsan Ilyumzhinov also met with the representatives of a leadership of the country, chess society and Uzbekistan chess federation and discussed chess development in Uzbekistan and realization of the FIDE programme “Chess in Schools”.

What does the name “Hindiston” after Vishy’s name mean?
It should actually read Hindustan (and not Hindiston) which is the Indian name of what is internationally known as India.
