Family Chess Day tomorrow at museum

In honor of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., ASAP (After School Activities Partnerships) will host Family Chess Day from 2 to 4:30 p.m. tomorrow at the African American Museum in Philadelphia, 701 Arch St.

Rep. Chaka Fattah (D., Phila.) will play several simultaneous games, and Kenneth Salaam will talk about his experiences working with King in Philadelphia and the South.

ASAP coordinates the Philadelphia Youth Chess Challenge. More than 3,000 youths in that program play chess weekly.
