Ke6 draws!
The only drawing move for White is 1. Ke6. If Black plays 1…Kd4+, then White will counter with 2. Kd7 and the Black Queen cannot check and therefore the White Pawn is able to promote. Draw
However, if Black plays 1…Kf4+, then White will move 2. Kf7 and, again, no check from the Black Queen is possible and the Pawn is still able to promote. Draw
I agree. If the white king goes to the d or f file, then the queen probably checks on that file. If 1.Ke6 then black must check by moving his king. Then the white king should go to the seventh rank of same file as the black king. Then black can’t check.
What about 1.Ke6 and now 1…Qa4?
Qa4 is not possible.
I think he means Qh5.

2.e8Q and draws.

Yes, these endgames are good! It would be nice to collect them into a book. It would also be nice to collect your Chess Life opening articles in a book.
