The 3rd Norsk Sjakkfestival (Norwegian Chess Festival), incorporating the 2013 Open Norwegian Championship, is taking place from 24th to 31st March at the Quality Hotel & Resort Fagernes, with a central placement in Southern Norway, 2½ hours from Oslo airport.

The Festival is being held during the Easter week, and the program includes the 2013 Open Norwegian Championship, Fagernes Grand Prix, Fagernes Easter Blitz and two Children’s Tournaments.

The main event counts with 24 titled players, including 11 GMs and 9 IMs.

After five rounds, there are no less than eight players sharing the lead with 4 points. GM Simen Agdestein, GM Sergey Volkov and GM Sinisa Drazic have the best tiebreak score among them. Top rated GM Jon Ludvig Hammer suffered a loss against untitled Aryan Tari and is now in the 15th place with 3.5/5.
