Nepomniachtchi will win. I’m rooting for him.
I’m looking forward to Kramnik – Ivanchuk. If Vassily wants to really add some weight to his recent tournament success, a good show in Dortmund would help.
This is a pretty weak field.
Why do Leko always play in the same events as Kramnik?
Having both of them in the same tournament increases the draw rate by a large margin.
I guess it’s because they have the same manager.
Kramnik, Mamedyarov, Leko, Ivanchuck are top players. Others are by no means weak either. Not the absolutely top players but far from weak.
You know, you can’t have all the top 10 in the world to play every tournament against each other.
It is funny- Ivanchuk is only 4th of 8 on that list you gave using April ratings- but we all know that Ivanchuk is actually above Kramnik now!
Will Ivanchuk get the nice advantage of being 50 points under-rated in this event to help boost his October rating over 2800?
Too see how weak this field is, check out last year’s players.
In the meantime another blow to FIDE’s credibility:
Foros WILL NOT be rated for July list.

WHERE THE HECK IS CARLSEN??
Like the field, good combination of established players as well as some new ones. Prevents having the same players against each other all the time. Though I am not a particular fan of Leko, as in my view his play is somewhat uninspired, plus he is content with draws rather than trying to continue winning. Should be a nice tournament.
