Leinier Dominguez Perez and Lazaro Bruzon qualify for the World Cup

The Zonal 2.3 Chess Championship was held from 18th to 27th March in Santiago, Dominican Republic. 13 players from nine federations competed in the round robin tournament.

Cuban representatives Leinier Dominguez Perez and Lazaro Bruzon upheld the top seeded positions and claimed the first two places, with 11 and 10.5 points respectively, to qualify for the World Chess Cup which will be held in Khanty-Mansiysk later this year. Official website.
