I just read a very good article on chessbase. It is about a pictorial done by Alexander Linkevich, one of the best fashion photographers in the Ukraine. His subject is WIM Olena Boytsun, who lives in Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine. She works in the field of children’s education and the benefits of the game of chess for disabled children, especially deaf children.

She is also completing a PhD in Economics (subject: “The influence of financial liberalization on economic growth”) at the International Finance Department of Dnipropetrovsk National University. She also teaches courses on marketing, financial globalization, the history of economic theories and economic development at Dnipropetrovsk University. Next month she will be on a study and lecture tour in Germany. I do not know Olena and I have never met her before but she sounds like a very nice and intelligent young lady.

I give 2 thumbs up to Alexander and Olena. The pictures were fun, charming, cool, exciting and classy at the same time. This is what I said all along. Female chess players can look good and classy at the same time while showing their power on the chess board. There is no need to sell yourself short. Posted by Picasa
