Susan :
Are you left handed ?
If so, you share the trait with Albert Einstein and Marilyn Monroe ?
Hey! I know that kid that you’re playing!!! Fernando’s a really strong player, isn’t he?
Susan’s prettier than Einstein and smarter than Monroe!:)
Where I work the janitors had to add waste baskets directly near the bathroom doors because people no longer want to touch the bathroom door handle. People worry about germ transmission, so they touch the handle with a paper towel, which they then discard.
I suspect the fear is bigger than the real risk.
I wonder whether grandmasters get cold germs from the 50 people they play during simuls? Everyone is touching the same pieces. If one amateur has a cold, the grandmaster can spread those germs not only to herself, but also from that board to all others.
I might guess that someday in some simul we may see the grandmaster wearing one of those thin latex gloves to move the pieces. The glove will protect her, though the germs could still be spread to the other boards.
I believe it was A.Nimzovitch who first strongly recommended ‘prophylaxis’! 😉

This was a fun event. It was a privilege to play such a great player. The atmosphere was very relaxed and you were a true sportsman and lady.
Thank you very much for signing my book in addition to my score sheet.

I bet Susan is ambidextrous
Why don’t you post the results of these simuls?
“Why don’t you post the results of these simuls?”
Because she doesn’t want to embarrass the poor children.
😛
Susan went 29-1 in the simul. The highest rated player was about 1950. My son (1595) lost to her in 24 moves 🙁
I am curious were you got this number from. I participated in the simul and to my knowledge there were only 25 participates [22 at the very beginning, 2 later comers for the full 24, and one little girl they let in around the middle]. Now I could be mistaken as I was hard at work getting my butt kicked and let before the very end, but I remember the arbiter telling Susan that the little girl was last.
Thank you for your response,
