You mean extremely easy.
1. Kd7 .. Nb6+
2. Kc6 .. Na4, is the most reasonable line, but then i don’t know how to go on; i’ll take some more time and then i’ll come back to see whether someone has posted a reasonable solution! 🙂
This is really cool! I hope I have solved it correctly.
In the end it was not that hard as I thought first. But I do not agree with Boris, 2:13 it is for sure not extremely easy.
1. Kd7
If black allows white to imprison the knight with Kc6 he is doomed. Trying to sacrifize it, push the h pawn and approach the king does not help black as white can get a position with Nh1, bishop on the long diagonal and everything is safe. So
1. -, Nb6+
is forced.
2. Kc6, Na4 3. Bb5, Nb2
and now it looks as if the black knight was safe but
4. Nc3!
What a beautiful silent move. The black knight and king position is a desastre. Only try is to sacrifze the h pawn but white can get his king in to take away the bishop’s square attackink job just in time.
4. -, h4 5. Kc5/Kd5, h3 6. Kd4!, h2 7. Bc6 +-
White wins the black knight! Wow!
I think this is one of my favourites of the exercises posted here in the last time. Not too hard but a good calculation exercise and a really beautiful zugzwang position for black.
Thanks for posting!
Best wishes from Germany
Jochen
well , i’m 2200ish , i did not have an easy time finding it , although it is obvious that it will be linked to the capture of the black knight .
But you need to calculate until the end after 1.Kd7 , it is based on the trick that the black knight will eventually be forced to go on b2 , and after you will play Nc3 , Black will be in fatal zugwang . Nice puzzle , Thank you Susan
Cheers from France
Very beautiful:
1.Kd7 Nb6+ 2.Kc6 Na4 3.Bb5 Nb2 4.Nc3 zugzwang.
4…h4 5.Kd5 h3 6.Kd4 h2 7.Bc6 1-0.
Basically not a very hard puzzle because it’s clear that there must be a way to neutralize black knight for it to work.
I’ve seen it! With reference to my previous post is better to play 3. Bb5 and after 4. Nc3 draw the king to d4, and then the B to c6.
Deja vu
1. Kd7, Nb6+
2. Kc6, Na4
3. Kb5 wins
