Last night, the Empire State Building was lit up completely Red to support Rutgers University. The college football fans in the tri-state are were wild before, during and after the college football game between Rutgers and Louisville.

I usually do not follow college football but one can’t help but notice the excitement for this game in the NY / NJ area. Maybe one day people can be just as enthusiastic about chess 🙂 Here is an article about it:

PISCATAWAY, N.J. (Nov. 9) – Somewhere in the sea of red-clad bodies that spilled out onto the field at Rutgers Stadium was the most unlikely national title contender college football has seen – maybe ever.

Ray Rice, Brian Leonard and the Scarlet Knights had just pulled off the greatest victory in Rutgers history, and it looked as if all 44,111 fans had left the stands to join them on the field.

Yes, Rutgers has arrived. Just ask Louisville, which got kicked right of the title scramble by the Scarlet Knights.

The program that once set the standard for futility jumped into that title picture Thursday night by rallying from a big deficit for a 28-25 victory over the third-ranked Cardinals.
