Rf7+
1 Rf7+! QxR (if Kg8 then 2 Qg7#, and if Kh6 then 2 Qh8#)
2 Rh4+! Kg8
3 Qh8#
Just to show my presence here I suggest 3.Rh8#
QH2
I think that works, 1.Qh2 Kg7 2.Qh5 Qe8 3.Qe5+ Kg8 4.Rh4 Nf2+ 5.Kg1 Qf8 6.Rh8+ Kf7 7.Rh7+ Ke8 8.Qb8#
No 2….Nf2+ 3.Rxf2 Ra1+ 4.Qe5+ Qxe5 5.dxe5 Rxf2 sorry
I mean 4.Kh2 Qc7+ 5.Qe5+ Qxe5+
1.Qh2+ Kg7
2.Qh5 ng3+
3.Rxg3 Bxg2+
4.Rxg2 Rxh5+ black wins.
1.Qh2 Kg7 2.Rh4 was better but still loses, this probably isn’t best play but 2….Nf2+ 3.Kg1 Nh3+ 4.Rxh3 Rxg2+ 5.Qxg2 Bxg2 6.Kxg2 Qb7+ and mates eventually.
RxE4 is best. Bishop takes rook > Queen takes rook and threatens other rook. Sorry I do not really know the algebra shorthand well.
It’s actually called algebraic notation although it certainly wasn’t a mathematician who decided to call it that since algebra involves variables and this notation just has a set of constants.
Sorry I wrote shorthand. I meant to say algebraic notation, but I was in a noisy restaurant on my phone when typing that. I hope it becomes second nature for me someday. In the meantime, I just keep playing chess.
People are generally more kind than critical on here, I’m autistic and I get a feeling of helplessness at a conscious level resulting from instincts failing to work properly at a subconscious level so I have some insecurity issues and you don’t need to take me seriously.
Javajeff,
1. Rxe4. Loses. Bxe4. 2. Qxa5. Qh4+. 3. Kg1. Rxg2#
or 1. Rxe4 Bxe4 2.Qxe4 Rh5+ 3.Kg1 Qc7 threatening Qh2#
