draw after all!
Oh,no! I had put the position in incorrect manner.
King G6 ra8,kf7rf8kxf8 and hard work left for white
Unfortunately I had kept black K on g8 on the board while analyzing and concluded that it is a draw and whoever tries to win loses. However things are different with BK at h8.
1.Kg6
( however 1.Kf7 Rf5+ 2.Kg6 Rf8 black has to win as white’s mating lines fail.but 1…. Rh5 to block h4 loses for black after 2.Kg6)
1….. Ra8
2.Kf7 Rf8+
3.Kxf8 Kh7
4.Kf7 Kh6
5.Kf6 Kh7
6.g4 a2
(6…Nd3 7.g5 Nf4 8.Rxf4 Kg8 9.Ra4 a2 10.Ra8+ Kh7 11.g6+ Kh6 12.Rh8#)
7.g5 a1=Q
8.g6+ Kg8 8….. Kh6 9Rh4#
9.Re8#
Mr. Bhat your second analysis is correct but…..if Black play 1)…; Rg5+ it’s a longer checkmate…or not?
Good evening!
