Karthik is correct. If Black retreats to h8 on the first move, the mate in 4 simply becomes a mate in three, as one Knight and then the other checks on g6.

You are remarkable.
The solution reminds me so much of training juveniles or just plain novices . . .which I actually am. They hang onto that queen as tight fisted as they can not realizing its the ‘game’ they want rather than the girl.
