I remember this puzzle- was a tough one from Christmas 2013.
The reason why it’s a mate in 7 is because Black can play Bf8+ at some point. I cheated and looked at the solution when I was working back through old puzzles.
I mean White can play Bf8+
or Be1, which makes it a little bit more interesting.
