2 minutes, I remembered that more than I worked it out.
1. Rh7+ Kf8
2. Nd7+ Raxd7
3. Rh8+ Ke7
4. Qf6#
1. Rh7+ Kf8
2. Nd7+ (Bxd7 or Ke8)
3. Qxf7#
1Rook ch 2 knight ch.
I believe its ne8. ? If rook takes it queen to f6.(mate in 1). If king to f8, its rh8..qd6..qxd7#??
If I can interpret this correctly…
1. Ne8?? Kf8!
2. Rh8 Ke7
3. Qf6 Kd7
And now what for white? It seems to me your idea was 4.Qxd8#, but the knight is still on e8 so the queen can’t take the rook safely. The only try is….
4. Qf7 Kc8 and black is ok.
I think that would work if the Black rook at a7 had been placed at e7 instead.
