Bd5ch
1. Bd5+ Qxd5 2. Qg6+ Kf8 3. Qf6+ Ke8 ( … Kg8 4. Qh8+ and … Qf7 3. Qxf7#) 4. Qh8+ Qg8 5. Qxg8#
1. … Kf8 2. Rf7+ Ke8 (… Kg8 3. Qh7#) 3. Qc6+ Kd8 4. Qd7#
Karthik,
It is mate in 4 alright!
1. Bxd5+.
A – 1………Qxd5. 2. Qg6+. Kf8. 3. Qf6+. and mate next move.
3…..Ke8. 4. Qe7#
3…..Kg8. 4. Qg7#
3…..Qf7. 4. Qxf7#
B – 1…….Kf8. 2. Rf7+
2….Ke8. 3. Qc6+. Kd8. 4. Qc/d7#
2….Kg8. 3. Qh7#
It’s a little late for anything “new,” but here’s a variant after 1) Bd5+, Qxd5; 2) Qg6+, Kf8. I now find 3) Qg7+ followed by 4) Qd7#. Big picture, though, is mate in 4, beginning with Bd5+
