  1. Ne2 Qh4 2. Rg6 threatening 3. Ng3 to remove the defender of g7 forces Black’s Q to retreat to e7 to add protection to that pawn and also defend the d6 pawn. But this allows White the time to consolidate his extra pawn . Or he can even play 3. Re6 hitting the Q again (but this allows 3…Qg5 threatening mate on g2, so it may not be best).

  Black has other choices, for instance 2…Kh7 hitting the R, but this allows White to grab the d6 pawn directly.
